The Society of Jesus, commonly known as the Jesuits, is a Catholic religious order founded in 1540 by St. Ignatius of Loyola. Pope Paul III approved the formation of the Society of Jesus. Under Ignatius’ leadership, the Jesuits became a force for education, missionary work, and reform across continents. Jesuits are dedicated to education, social justice, intellectual inquiry, and service to humanity. For centuries, they have been leaders in shaping institutions that combine academic excellence with ethical responsibility.
Jesuit education emphasizes the formation of the whole person—intellectual, moral, emotional, and spiritual. It encourages critical thinking, reflection, social responsibility, and lifelong learning, preparing students to become compassionate leaders committed to the service of others.

In its effort to extend service in various fields, the Society of Jesus, the M.P. Province in response to the demands of the people decided to open LOYOLA COLLEGE at Kunkuri in Jashpur District from July 2005 with the motto: “excellence and Transformation”. “he excellence consists in producing men and women of right principles personally appropriated, men and women open to the signs of the times, in tune with their cultural milieu and its problems, men and women for others. ”Pedro Arrupe, S.J.). The kind of transformation we want to bring about rests on Social, Intellectual, Spiritual and Personal Transformation.
